Best Lava Hound deck ever: Lava Hound + Furnace!

Being current top tier deck, this Lava Hound + Furnace combo is damn deadly to deal with due to its perfect synergy. Furnace is no longer an underrated card in the meta!

Overview: Basically, this is a hybrid of the Miner chip damage deck with the big boy. We have a very balanced deck with 2 cards for each rarity, with the average elixir cost of 3.8. The Lava Hound and Furnace are your key cards and will obviously be used to push/counter and get crowns. The reason for this effectiveness is because Lava Hound is among the tankiest troops in Clash Royale, while Fire Spirits constantly spawned from Furnace can help clear out their distracted units, along with the assistance from Miner and Mini P.E.K.K.A.

Lava Hound + Furnace Deck Offensive Strategy

You could execute some combos such as Lava Hound + Mini P.E.K.K.A, Lava Hound + Miner + Poison or even the combination of them, along with the supported Fire Spirits coming from Furnace. I personally recommend that you should be aggressive to take advantage of our Lava Hound pushing potential, and remember to adapt to the situation so as to maximize the effectiveness of pushing combos (e.g. against Ice Wizard and Princess, Poison is the best counter and can damage either tower or them)

The strategy is pretty straightforward: Let the Hound fly ahead, with the Fire Spirits and spells hopefully destroying distractions. When the Hound is near dead, send the Miner in to tank for the Pups. The Miner also provides the utility of killing snipers and air shooters. Mini PEKKA is the choice of the meta right now. Also, having a Mini PEKKA underneath the Hound is almost a death sentence for the tower, and the Mini PEKKA can also clear air shooters that are in front of it. Minions help with destroying flying menaces. They also have an insane DPS to couple with the Hound. With the chip damage that this deck provides, and the constant threat of a Hound going down the lane, opponents are pressured enough that they cannot perform their own attacks well.

Worst counter to Lava Hound are Minion Horde (of course!) due to its DPS, Ice Wizard because of his super OP slow, and defensive buildings such as Inferno Tower, Tesla. To tackle with the annoying Horde, the Fire Spirits can do their job perfectly, while Ice Wizard can be taken down by Mini P.E.K.K.A in one shot or even Poison. Mini P.E.K.K.A is also viable to eliminate defensive structures in few hits.

My most sincere advice for you is that you had better place Furnace before doing any push, as this structure excel in both offense and defense. Also, during a Lava Hound push you can perform a double lane pressure strategy with a Mini P.E.K.K.A on the other lane, as she has significant DPS.

Lava Hound + Furnace Deck Defensive Strategy

Main defensive cores: Minions, Guards, Zap, Furnace. This deck focuses on the overwhelm pushing strength of Lava Hound, thus it is not a good deck on defense.

Against Tank-Beatdown deck, Furnace can lure their Tank while dealing chip damage with Fire Spirits, while Mini P.E.K.K.A can help take the Tank down quickly. Use Zap on dangerous tank such as Royal Giant to stop him from doing extra attacks on tower if necessary, and Minions/Guards can get rid of support troops behind.

Spawner deck: Use Poison to reduce Huts lifetime and damage Tower as well, then drop your Lava Hound from behind Arena Tower and perform the normal aforementioned combo.

PPP deck – Guards are the best units to deal with this combo, since their shield can tank a hit from P.E.K.K.A and a charge from Dark Prince/Prince, and they can also deal moderate damage to them, combining with Zap and they can form a very powerful defense line. In addition, add Minions to deal with them without being focused. Remember to have Furnace available so they will be aggroed toward it.

Hog cycle deck – Not a problem since Hog will be aggroed by our Furnace, be constantly damaged by Furnace and our Guards, Minions or Mini P.E.K.K.A can get rid of him.

Air-Beatdown deck – Against this archetype of deck, Furnace is your best bet since it can deal chip damage away and distract those aerial units. Drop Minions and Poison to slow them down and take them out as fast as possible. Use Zap if necessary.

Payfecta deck (or 2 Legendaries from these 3) – really disturbing to deal with since this deck excels in every criteria. Princess can snipe off our Minions and Guards from distance and be a threat to our Tower, while Ice Wizard can completely shut down Lava Hound, and Miner always remains as a threat in every push/counter push scenario. If Princess or Ice Wizard stands near the Tower, get rid of them with Poison on Tower as well. When they are distracted by other units, use Guards or Minions to quickly deal with them. Minions and Guards are also great against Miner.

Lava Hound + Furnace Deck Tips

  • Poison is the key spell in our deck, so use it wisely. Try to hit as many units as possible with Poison, and damage tower/buildings as well. On the other hand, Poison is a good spell on defense too, with the ability to slow down enemies in a huge AoE.
